Everybody knows that a monster from another universe in fact never really existed. These terrible creatures exist only in the minds of children. What is certain adults will not believe in these monsters, or at least until they have seen the occupants of this other world.
Sally Hurst (Bailee Madison) does not have many friends. Sally would rather be alone. Even when he was invited to move to an ancient house by Alex (Guy Pearce), his father, even Sally can not immediately find a new friend in this place. When exploring an ancient house that reportedly built the 19th century was Sally met a very friendly creature. Soon Sally and other inhabitants of this world to make friends.
Unwittingly, Sally really has opened the gates to other worlds and their inhabitants are now ready to seize Sally from Alex. Do not know what to do, Sally came on Alex and Kim (Katie Holmes), lover Alex. Unfortunately, these two men do not believe that there really monsters in their homes. Now, Sally's task is to prove to Alex and Kim before these creatures really making a scene.
